Cultivating and harvesting seaweed is one livelihood of Tagbanua families on Coron Island. The seaweed is then sold in Coron town for a small profit. Aside from collecting the highly priced swift nests, many of the livelihoods for the Calamian Tagbanua revolve around the ocean including: seaweed cultivation, dried medicinal sea cucumbers, high-priced live fish, spearfishing, net fishing and octopus fishing.
